I wake up every morning with a choice—do I honor my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, or do I let fatigue, doubt, and distractions take over? Some days, I feel strong and motivated. Other days, I struggle to find the energy to move. But through every high and low, I remind myself that my strength does not come from me alone. My strength comes from the Lord.
As I step onto my workout mat or lace up my running shoes, I remember 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Fitness is not just about sculpting my body; it is about building endurance—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Every drop of sweat is a reminder that discipline, consistency, and perseverance matter. Just as I train my body, I must train my faith, relying on God to sustain me when my energy runs low.

I used to think that I had to rely solely on willpower to stay fit. But over time, I have realized that grace is what keeps me going. 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds me: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” When I feel weak, whether in my workouts or in life, I lean into His grace. I no longer see my struggles as failures but as opportunities for God’s power to work through me.
Faith transforms the way I approach fitness. Instead of viewing exercise as a punishment for what I ate or how I look, I now see it as an act of worship—moving my body in gratitude for the life and health God has given me. Each squat, stretch, and sprint is an offering, a way to honor Him with my actions.

When discouragement creeps in, I turn to Scripture. Isaiah 40:31 speaks directly to my heart: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This verse inspired me to create a t-shirt that I will be wearing in my next race. I hold onto this truth when my body feels tired and my motivation wanes. I am not running this race alone—God is running with me, renewing my strength every step of the way.
I encourage you to shift your perspective on fitness. Invite God into your workouts. Pray before you begin, thanking Him for the ability to move. Meditate on His Word as you exercise. Trust that His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
So today, I press on. I fight the good fight. I finish the race. Not by my own strength, but by His grace.
By the way, the t-shirt is available for sale in my store at girdedwithstrengthfitness.com.
